Before creating your matchbox to contribute to our portrait, please read the instructions below.
1. Create something responding to the theme "Melbourne - my city"
It can be anything that represents your own (experience of) Melbourne, from an image to an object, a piece of writing, something made or something found...as long as it fits inside the Match Box Projects box we gave you. What you create will be presented in our Melbourne Portrait - People Make Places which will travel with us in Exhibitions locally and abroad.
When creating your work, please take into consideration:
• Format of your work must be landscape/horizontal (not portrait)
• Materials used must be safe to travel internationally eg no liquid, sharp objects, food, flora, fauna etc.
• Nothing can be loose inside the box - eg if an object, it must be firmly stuck to the box.
• Only the inside of the box will be viewed (outside walls/back of the box will not)
• Work will be exhibited behind a frame, do not include anything that needs to be unfolded, sticking out of box etc
• Box will be displayed on its side - upright.
• Your work will be viewed in public spaces by children and adults.
